The adventure continues.

Weather – raining even heavier, CTAC count drops.

Weasel wakes up from a poor nights slumber, he can hear the torrential rain hammering against the windows of the squat.

His cell phone rings, the voice of a woman he does not recognise speaks, “Sinister and you need to get out of there, Law Enforcement are on their way to arrest you, get to Puttanesca street in Dockers Wedge, I will meet you there.”

“How do you know this and how did you get my number?”

“Get to Dockers and I will explain all when we meet.” The cell goes dead.

Weasel rouses Kid Sinister, “Kid, get up, we gotta go, Law is on the way to arrest us.”

“What! Why arrest us and how do you know?”

Weasel is in no mood to discuss anything with Kid S, “I tell you on the way, get up.”

“On the way where?”

Question. Do the companions get out of the squat before the Law Enforcers arrive? 50/50. d100 = 89. Yes.

Weasel walks over to the window, the very heavy rain does nothing to improve his mood. He spots two black cars pulling up at the front of the squat, “their here, best go out the back window, get you arse moving Kid.”

Weasel tells Kid to put his CTAC mask on, count is moderate and Kid finds it funny that Weasel who never wears a CTAC mask is telling him to put his, “I don’t want the law recognising us.” snaps Weasel.
Just as Weasel and Kid tumble out of the window into the rain, their door bursts open and 4 men including Sargent Alegrip walk in.

“Where to now,” asks Kid.

“Dockers Wedge, got to meet someone there,” Weasel growls in reply, “damn this incessant rain.”

Weasel and Kid take the underground from Foundry Bay to Dockers Wedge and Puttanesca Street, it jeeps them out of the rain, the CTAC and, hopefully, out of the sight of the Law Enforcers but Weasel knows the Law is everywhere.

Security at the checkpoint is thankfully light, two guards with metal detectors and cursory ID checks.
Kid Sinister has his weapons bound to his skin and gets advantage on the ID check. Rolling two 3’s on d20 he gets through fine.
Weasel gets scanned and has to make a Dex(Slight of Hand) v Perc(Detection). Weasel needs 17 or less and rolls 8, the guard needs 12 or less but rolls 16, Weasel also rolls advantage in his ID chech, rolling 5 & 6 he passes easily.

Puttanesca Street is well know for its gangs, prostitutes and drug dealers. No self-respecting Doza citizen would go down there, Weasel and Kid are not self-respecting.

Question. Is everything as it should be in Puttanesca Street? 50/50. d100=11. No.

Even in this torrential rain, you should still find lowlifes touting for trade in the doorways and windows of Puttanesca Street, today the street is almost devoid of any life. Weasel knows the reputation this area has and he can sense something is wrong. If they had walked into a trap set by the Peacekeepers – well, he was sure they would take a few down with them.

A black saloon car whizzed passed them, Weasel grabbed Kid and pulled him into a doorway. The car raced passed them and round a corner leaving the street almost deserted again.

No sooner had the car passed the door opened and a female voice said “That was close.” Weasel and Kid recklessly stepped inside. The door sealed shut.

The companions found themselves standing in an amber-lit corridor no more than a dozen yards long. Kid turned around and looked for a way to open the door, there was nothing, “looks like we are going to have to see what’s at the end of this”.

The pair soon found out, another door opened revealing a small amber-lit cubicle. There was no option but to step inside. The door shut. Suddenly Weasel stomach seemed to hit his chin. They realised they were in an elevator and it was going down at speed. It stopped its decent as abruptly as it had started. The door opened again and Weasel and Kid found themselves looking into a normal office room.

A woman stepped out from behind a desk and walked towards them, “You must be Weasel, I am Lavantha Ashterka, I believe you are keen to meet me”,

To be continued.

  1. Has Unexpected Aid been used by Shona yet?

Also, it might be fun to introduce “The Pit People” somewhere. I mean, Rook’s spell is begging to have their namesake show up in someone’s adventure!

    1. I’m on it John. I don’t want to give too much away but Shona and Rook feature in their own scene which is being typed up and it may jut be that they have unexpected aid. Pit People, now thats an idea I never thought of.
