The characters are in an underground labyrinth in the city of Northgate looking for the mirror of dragons.
Derowen has found a trinket box containing a leaf of goldenwart inside. She currently has 16 hp
Morwen has killed 2 skeletons and is down to 13hp
Pedran is at 19hp
Hedrag has killed a Doppelganger and 2 skeletons but lost 6hp and is now down to 10hp
Betrayal of the Dragon Queen.

Peran goes to the door on his left, he cautiously checks for traps before he attempts to open the door.
Peran first makes a Perc(Detection) roll. As he does not have the Detection skill he does not get a bonus so needs to roll 17 (his perc attribute score) or less on a d20 to succeed, roll = 15, success.
I next ask the oracle if the door is trapped, 50/50, d100 = 22, No.
So Peran knows the door is not trapped and attempts to open it.
Peran only has strength of 9 but rolls a 1 on d20, A Great Success.
Peran gives the door a push with his shoulder. Not only does the door open easily but it falls off its hinges and crashes to the ground, thankfully it lands without making too much noise but throws up a pile of dust.
Hedrag is about to give the door on the right a shove to see if it opens but Morven puts her hand on his shoulder and stops him, “Watch the door is not trapped Hedrag. Perans has opened the other door, lets search that room then try this one”.
Hedrag stops himself from pushing the door, “perhaps you are right at that”
Question. Is there anything in the room? 50/50. d100 =50. No, because.
Peran walks quietly into the room, closely followed by Derowen her latern illuminates the room. The room is filled only with thick dust on the floor and cobwebs on the ceiling. Derowen and Peran can make out fairly recent footprints on the floor as well as other marks on the ground indicating that the room had recently been looted of it contents. With little point in continuing their search of the room they turn and leave.
The companions turn their attention to the room on the right. This time Morwen checks the door for possible traps.
Morwen has a Perc of 13 and the Detection skill, so she needs to roll 14 or less on d20 to succeed. d20 roll = 3 Great Success.
Question. Is there door trapped? 50/50. d100 = 96. Yes, and…
Morwen carefully examines the door, its lock and its surround. She notices that the lock has a mechanism that if not opened properly it will fire a dart at the unwary person opening it. She also sees it is old, rusty and not in good repair, with a little careful tinkering she manages to disarm the trap and allows Hedrag to attempt to force open the old door.
Hedrag has a strength of 17, he rolls 12 on d20 and the old door opens.
Pushing with all his might, Hedrag finds the door stiff and difficult to push open but slowly open it does and wide enough to allow them to look inside the room before entering. Darown with her hooded lantern is the first to do just that.
Question? Is there anything in the room? d100 = 52, Yes, but…
The light from Darowen’s lantern illuminates only part of the room only, she can see a mirror about 1 foot square in size propped up against the far of the room, near to it is a strange two headed grotesque creature, humanoid in shape and size, it looks half starved, in some distress and, as it sees Darowen’s light. it begins to beg for someone to end its suffering. Derowen attempts to enter the room but an invisible force block the entrance to the room.
Darowen calls quietly to her sister, “Morwen, what do you make of this, an invisible force blocks our way, magic at work maybe?”
Morwen steps forward and takes a look.
Morwans has the Arcane lore skill, she uses it to see if she can detect magic,With her INT of 18 +1 for the skill, she needs to roll 19 or less to succeed, d20 = 4, a great sucess. Not only does she sence the magic but she thinks she knows how to disarm it.
I allow Morwen to make a second Int(Arcane Lore) roll to see if she can dispel the magic. d20 roll = 11, success.
Morwen runs her hand around the edges of the invisible barrier, “Magic it is indeed, I have come across something similar before, a ritual, powerful yes, though I think I may remember how to end it, let me try.”
Morwen utters some strange arcane incantation, she begins to shake and sweat but after a short whild she stops, slightly breathless, she steps back, “There sister, step through, the entrance is blocked no more, beware the two headed devil in there.”
The four companions enter the room, Darowen first, then a rather exhausted Morwen, followed by Peran who begins to circle around the pitiful two headed creature sat by the mirror, finally Hedrag enters, he turns to the door ready to fight anything that may try to enter.

The two headed creature, now surrounded, looks defeated, one head droops limply, the second head speaks wearily. The creature somehow manages to explain in broken that a Argosan that a woman, a witch, summoned him from his own plane in to this room using the mirror. She sealed him in, told him to guard the mirror until she would return and release him, she never returned and now he is slowly starving to death. he asks only that if he cannot be returned to his own plane that they put him out of his misery.
Again I allow Morwen to use her INT(Arcane Lore) to see if she can understand how the mirror works. d20 roll =19. She just succeeds.
Morwen runs her fingers around the mirror frame, as she does images of ancient dragon folk and mystic runes show up in electric blue light then quickly disappear, “Hurry, bring the creature to the mirror, I think I can open a portal to his world, but only for a second or two, we must get him through now”
Question. Does the two headed creatue step though the mirror safely before the mirrors portal closes? 50/50. d100 =74, Yes, and…
Peran and Darowen carry the poor creature to the mirror, Morwen again runs her fingures around the mirror frame, images of dragons and ancient runes appear and disappear again. Peran and Darown help the creature step through the mirror then the portal closes, he is gone, A neon blue spark flies from the mirror and hits Morwen who drops to the ground, she drops her torch which goes out.
Morwen loses 4hp (1d6 roll = 4), She is now down to 4 hp.
Peran picks up the mirror, “this has to be the dragon mirror, and the woman must have been Lela’s mother, I think its time we left this place”.
Darowen helps her sister, “are you alright?”
“I have felt better, get me on my feet and lets get back to Lela.” Morwen, back on her feet, gets a second torch from her pack and lights it, the companions head out of the room, retracing their steps. Darowen leads the way, lantern in one hand, sword in the other, Peran is next, then morwen and finally Hedrag.
Question. Do they encounter any monsters on their way out? 50/50. d100 roll=25. No.
Question. Is everything as it should be when they get back to the surface? 50/50. d100 =99. Yes, and.
The companions quickly make their way out of the labyrinth and are a little surprised to see Lela, the dog and the owl still sat in the same place where they left them.
Peran shows Lela the mirror, “behold we have found the Mirror of Dragons, now we can go and get your mother released from her captives”.
Lela asks to see the mirror, which Peran is happy to do. The girl runs her hand around the mirrors frame, again the frame is illuminated by dragons and runes. Lela puts her arm through the mirror then pulls it out again quickly, “my mother was right, you can summon creature from other plains. Come, we must get her.” Lela begins to run off towards the Stargazers Citadel, with a dog, and owl and the four companions running after her.
To be continued.
