Toolkit
I am using the toolkit as given in session 0 (link here).
The free adventure, ‘No sprawl for old men’, from Pickpocket Press contains a great description and floor plan of a nightclub along with great random encounter tables which I have pinched and saves me heaps of time. There is a lot of useful material in the adventure pdfs which are available from pickpocket press on DrivethroughRPG.com for free or just a few pennies. Even if you don’t play through the adventures I highly recommend you pick these valuable resources up for the maps alone.
Catch-up.
Its been a while since my last Lowlife posts, sometimes life gets in the way of gaming, so I have added links to the first and last posts here so we can refresh our memories .

Review the PC’s.
Each character now has 23050 Cera having received 20k each from Nashu Kamshunar for helping to find out what happened to her brother Enli and 3k retainer each from a concierge who wants a vampire destroyed.
Weasel has found a blister pack of CTAC pills with a cryptic message and a phone number on it in Sparks apartment and he believes calling this number may reveal clues to Sparks untimely death and Nashu’s brother Enli’s disappearance.
Kid Sinister, having agreed to hunt the Vampire down, has been given six silver bullets by the concierge. Kid is unaware that silver bullets will not destroy a vampire.
Shona and Rook played very little part in the first few sessions.
All four now have a chance to gather intel on either the vampire or Sparks murder and the missing Enli. They can also use their Cera to purchase gear.
Main NPC’s.
I found when NPC’s tagged along with the party I was allowing them take the hits in combat or to make decisions for the PC’s rather than let the PC’s do the fighting and decision making, so I have a rule that I do not allow any ‘tag along’ NPC’s.
Vienna (Human)- a hacker who has a bit of a thing for Shona.
Nashu Kamshunar (Human)- Rich girl from the Munroe district. Has hired Weasel and Kid to find out what has happened to her, probably deceased, brother Enli.
Hif Klomo (Minotaur) – A notorious people trafficker. The people he traffics tend to disappear.
Sergeant Alegrip (Dwarf) – Corrupt law enforcer, probably in the pay of Hif Klomo or someone Klomo works for.
Possible NPC’s

Lavantha Ashterka – Human. Member of the People First Militia. Hates all Magic. Easily Distracted. Repeats Words.

Pepe – Human. Tends the bar at Club Jade. Judgemental & highly excitable.
Ru Wires – Dwarf, heavily augmented and wants to bring down Hif Klomo. Calculating, usually slow to answer. Often down in the dumps.

Scene 11. Back at Shona’s place.
Weasel bangs frenziedly on Shona’s apartment door and shouts “Shona, open the door, I need a cell, got to make a call, come on, let me in”!
Shona opens the door and snaps at Weasel, “for fecks sake Weasel, just ring the bell”.
Weasel shows Shona the blister pack of CTAC pills with the phone number and message printed on the back, “I found this at Sparks place, I need your cell to call the number”.
Shona refuses and tells Weasel to buy his own cell phone, “No way hoda, you think I am stupid. Who knows who is at the other end of that number, I assure you they are not getting mine. There’s a store just down the way sells cellphones, if you hurry you may get there before it shuts”.
“Shona, you know I’m broke. I need to to know who is on the end of this number, I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important”.
At that moment Kid Sinister and Rook walk in the door, “Weasel, you’re back, good. That concierge came good and gave us ₵3000 to go with the 20k Nashu put up front. We should be able to get some decent gear with that”.
Weasel looks at Shona, “okay, I’ll buy a cell”.
Shona looks at Kid and Rook, “You two sure Vampire hunting is wise”?
Rook shakes her head.
Kid pulls the silver bullets out, “the concierge gave me these, six silver bullets. we will be fine”.
Shona shakes her head, “Kid, silver bullets are good against werewolves, useless against a vampire. You did know that, right”?
Gathering Info.
Kid Sinister does a quick search on the internet and discovers that a Vampire can only be destroyed by sunlight or a stake through the heart. He also tries to contact a Bounty Hunter he knows to see if they have any info on vampires in the Munroe district. He needs to roll 8 or less on d20 to get any help (contact rating 9, -1 assisting is inconvenient to the contact). Rolling 6 he gets the following info and rolling a great success on the payment table means that Kid owes his contact 1d6*10 Cera (roll=6 so 60 Cera)
“Sure I heard there was a Vamp causing trouble there. I don’t know much but if I was you I would start at a place called Club Jade, there is some strange stuff going on there. You owe me a few beers for the info man. Sorry. gotta go batu”.
Shona has a contact who is a Crime Boss. Hoping he may have some intel on Club Jade she tries to contact him. She needs to roll 11 or less to get any info. She rolls 14 and fails. Her contact isn’t willing to help
“Hey Shona! Club Jade in Munroe district? Not my patch, I steer clear of that area. My advice is you should too. Ciao bellissima”.
Rook contacts an Occult Trader she knows well hoping to source wooden stakes and anything else needed to combat a Vampire. She needs 18 or less on d20 and rolls 8, a great success. Rooks contact ot only gives Rook some good advice about dealing with vampires but three hours later a delivery of four wooden stakes, several strings of garlic, four small hand mirrors and several icons of both Argona and Soliri get delivered to Shona’s place. Both the info and the items cost Rook 1300 Cera, payable on delivery.
Weasel goes our and gets himself a cell phone (a basic Hon Hai Echo for 1k cera). He is out for about 4 hours picking up four pizzas, drinks and snacks whilst he is out. Although keen to call the number on the pill packet he is not going to do it on an empty stomach.
Scene 12. Weasel makes a cell call.
Weasel forces his pizza down his throat like he had not eaten in a week, (which he quite likely hadn’t). He washes it down with a strong drink giving him the courage to pick up his new cell and call the number on the back of the pill packet. “So, lets see who printed this and what they know about Spark”
question. does the number ring? very likely. Roll =22 +40. Yes, but…
question. does anyone answer? 50/50. Roll = 15. No.
Weasel makes his call, he lets it ring for several minutes bit no one answers. In a fit of temper he throws his cell across the room, “Stupid cheap cell, what a waste of my cera”.
Shona goes and picks up the phone, “maybe the person at the other end doesn’t answer strange numbers. Try checking the interweb, see if you can find out who the number belongs to that way, if no joy I will contact Vienna, see if she can trace it”.
question. does an internet check find who the number belongs to ? Unlikely. Toll =91 -20 = 71. Yes
Weasel does a quick search for the number on the internet, he claps his hands and shouts with joy, “got her, the number is registered to someone in the Central Business District called Lavantha Ashterka. It doesn’t give her address but we can track her down. I wasn’t expecting it to be that easy”.
To be continued.
