Character sheets for my four characters are held on my Google Drive account. As fine as that is I think it would be useful to have paper copies on the table in front of me. I find index cards are useful for this as they take up very little space on my table. So before I started the next session I took the time to copy the character stats on to said index cards. They may be a bit rough and ready but so long as I can read them that is all that matters.

Toolkit.

I am using the toolkit as given in session 0 (link here).
The free adventure, ‘No sprawl for old men’, from Pickpocket Press contains a great description and floor plan of a nightclub along with random encounter tables which I have pinched to represent the Club Jade nightclub located in the Munroe district. This saves me heaps of time designing my own nightclub. There is a lot of useful material in the adventure pdfs available from pickpocket press on DrivethroughRPG.com for free or just a few pennies. Even if you don’t play through the adventures I highly recommend you pick these valuable resources up for the maps alone.

Scene 7. At Nashu Kamshunir apartment.

I use the Instacitizen drop table from Augmented Reality to find out who (or whom) is with Nashu. I get City Beat Cop.
Question. Is there more than one cop? 50/50. No.

Nashu opens her apartment door and ushers the three characters into her living area. Stood in the centre of the room is a peacekeeper.

“This is Sergeant…” Nashu tries to introduce the cop but cannot remember his name.

“Sergeant Alegrip and these lifers are?” Alegrip, a Dwarf about 5’3″ with a full beard and a crisp uniform looked suspiciously at Weasel, Kid & Rook.

“I can vouch for them”, Nashu indicates that everyone should sit down, “they are here at my request to help me with a small matter. The Sergeant is here because someone tried to break into my apartment last night”.

Alegrip nods, “I see. Perhaps you three can account for your whereabouts last night”?

Rook smiles at the office “my friends here and myself were hanging out at friends in foundry bay all last night and yes, our friend can verify that if you would like her to”.

“That won’t be necessary miss”, Alegrip looks at Nashu, “I think I have all the information I need for the moment miss Kamshunir. I will let you deal with your small matters though my advice should you want it is to think carefully about who you let into your home”.

“Thank you Sergeant, let me show you out” Nashu walks the office to her apartment door.

“I’ll be in touch miss Kamshunir”.

Question. Did Nashu call the peacekeepers about the attempted break in? Likely. No.

Weasel is the first to speak after the PK left, “CCTV should have picked up any intruder unless they were real experts and bypassed it. Did office Alegrip check it”?

“He said that’s how they knew there had been a break in. They security system here automatically sends the keepers an alarm if something unusual happens here”.

Weasel shakes his head, “and peacekeepers didn’t turn up until now, seems

odd, think its connected to what happened to Spark? Speaking of Spark, you find anything of interest at his apartment yesterday?”

Question. Did Nashu find anything in Sparks flat? 50/50. No.

Nashu shakes her head. “look, I just want to find out what happened to my brother. I know he gambled and lost everything but I just want to know if he is still alive”.

“And Spark had some more info for us but before we got to him someone took him out. Now your life is in danger to Nash. You need our help but if we are to do that we need Cera, we are going to need equipment, good equipment”.

“I understand. Look, find out what happened to my brother and you will each get ₵ 20 ,000, ₵ 5 ,000 each up front for equipment”, Nashu looks tired, “and I will give you any help I can”.Weasel agrees to the Cera payments, “I need access to Sparks place, I need the codes to get in there, you can start with that”.

Scene 8. Sparks flat and other places.

Weasel, Kid and Rook walk out of Nashu Kamshunir’s apartment block back into the acid rain thunderstorm. Rook gave her friend a hug and told her that she come back later, it would be safer for Nash if she had someone staying with her.

Weasel, armed with the access codes to Spark apartment and ₵ 5 ,000 in his account decided to head straight there, he was sure he would find something there even if Nashu had not. He felt it safer to go there alone.

Kid was keen to head to Vienna’s apartment block, he was eager to speak to the concierge there who had asked Kid to hunt a Vampire that was plaguing the area. Kid commented that going after Vampires could be an interesting career move. Rook thought it maybe a very short career, she decided to go with him in the hope of keeping him from doing something stupid.

By the time Weasel had made his way to Sparks apartment building the thunderstorm had soaked his clothing. The street is deserted, not even the drug dealers who wee there yesterday and the Jade Nightclub was in darkness, although the rundown temple dedicated to holy septet was open for the believers it seemed there were no takers this day even the underground subway had no one either entering or leaving.

Question. Doe the codes to enter the apartment building and sparks apartment work? Likely. Yes, but…

The codes Nashu had given Weasel allowed him access to Sparks apartment but Weasel noticed there was a lot of security cameras around the building, he was bound to have been noticed entering the building and the apartment.

Question. Is everything inside Sparks apartment as expected? 50/50. Yes.

Weasel walked into Sparks place. The last time Weasel had been there, Spark had been alive, now the place was cold and empty. Weasel sat down on a sofa and looked around. He had no idea what he was looking for he just knew there was a clue here to what Spark wanted to tell him.
Nashu had gone there looking for answers about her brother and found nothing but she was looking for the wrong thing. This wasn’t about her brother, not directly, it was something bigger. Weasel new he better get searching, it wouldn’t be long before he would have unwanted company.

Weasel has to make a perception check to see if he finds anything relevant. Weasels Perc is only 6 but I allow him a bonus due to his gather info skill. Needing to roll 7 or less he rolls a 1, a great success.
I get three ‘themed words’ – Agenda, Surgery, Medicine.

Weasel found it in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. A blister pack of pills, Half had been taken, they were a CTAC treatment by Pan Helix Pharmaceuticals. Printed on the back were the words ‘They want to talk to you’ along with a cell number. Pan Helix were well known for their work in genetics and cyberware. Weasel knew the company was powerful, big in finance.

Weasel put the blister pack in his pocket and left. Had Spike called the number on the back of the pills and if so what had he found out. Weasel felt that it must be tied in with Hif Klomo, the Minotaur, the people smuggler. Did Klomo have connections with Pan Helix and were Pan Helix funding the extremist group Machine Gestalt?

Weasel needed a cell phone, he went to the nearby subway and headed back to Foundry Bay and Shona’s place.

In the next post more questions are answered and Kid Sinister finds out if indeed he has a career as a vampire hunter.
