Weasel and Kid Sinister had arranged to meet Spark in the Munroe district. Spark said he had something important they need to hear. When Weasel and Kid S got there, Spark was dead. What Spark wanted, who shot him and why were questions Weasel wanted answers to.
They had visited a hacker they knew, a girl called Vienna, she had agreed to help. Outside Vienna’s apartment block they’d had a run in with a Thrall, a half vampire, but lived to tell the tale. Now Weasel wants to head to Sparks apartment. If they can get in they may find some answers.

Scene 3. The concierge.

Weasel and Kid S make their way to the entrance of Vienna’s apartment block and are about to make their way into the street but they are stopped by the concierge.

The entrance doors are locked, the concierge faces Weasel and Kid S “I was all for watching you two lifers become one of the undead but Ms Vienna told me to let you in. Said both of you were too streetwise to let a Thrall take you. I’ve never seen anyone get that close to that Thrall and survive”.

Kid did something he rarely did, he smiled, “until you opened those doors my money was on the Thrall”. Weasel stuck his nose to the glass of the doors and asked, “safe to go out now hoda”?

Question. Does the concierge open the doors to let them out? 50/50. yes, but…

The concierge goes to unlock the doors for them “Its safe now. The Thrall comes about this time everyday. People are scared to go out but there is always someone who thinks they are immune from its bite or those that are unwary. It always finds a victim then back to its master it goes. 15 years I worked here, never seen folk so scared to go out. Look, the authorities can’t or won’t do anything to help. People round here have money. You two seem to have the measure of that thing. I think I could arrange a big payment for you to rid us of it and its master”?

Kid Sinister replies “maybe, Vienna knows how to contact us, let her know when you get some money together”

Weasel taps on the door, “in the meantime hoda we have other matters to see to, time for you to open these doors”.

Weasel and Kid S make their way from Vienna’s apartment block to the street where the unfortunate Spark had lived.

Question. Do they encounter anything on their way to Sparks apartment building? Likely. No.

Scene 4, Outside Sparks apartment building.

Using the drop table from Augmented Reality to see if there are any buildings of interest in the street where Spark lived I get a public transport hub (underground station, prone to flooding), a religious building (temple of the holy septet, decrepit & rundown) & a nightclub (club jade, probable a front for criminal activity)

Question. Is the street busy? 50/50. No, because…

The street outside the late Sparks apartment building is quiet. A couple of elves wearing CTAC masks are standing on the street corner selling stuff but trade seems slow. The CTAC, people still at work and the fact that everything seems shut means there are very few folk on the street.

Weasel and Kid S walk up to the entrance to Spikes apartment building. Kid S checks the entrance doors.

Question. Are the doors locked. Very Likely. Yes, and…

I use the Instacitizens drop grid in Augmented Reality to see who is also there and get cabbie outside. Augmented Reality’s random cabbie table gives me creaking leathers, Swedish, their work on their phd, helpful/friendly.
Is the cabbie male? 50/50. No. So female and an Elf (determined randomly).

Weasel checks the doors to the apartment block, they are locked, “thats not what I expected”!

Kid S presses the intercom to Sparks apartment.

Question. Does anyone answer? Very unlikely. No, but…

Weasel is still trying to ope the entrance doors, “what you press the intercom for, you think someone will answer, crump”.

Kid S presses the intercom a second time, “worth a shot, someone may be in there and we have no chance of getting in otherwise”.

“We got in last time didn’t we”.

“Sure we did, Sparks let us in, he’s dead remember”.

“like I could forget. Look, there’s no lock can keep me out, I will get us into that apartment”.

An elf girl with a Swedish accent sat in the drivers seat of a a Yellow taxi cab calls across to them, “hey, you guys want to get in, my rider will be coming out in a moment. I’m sure she will let you in”.

Kid S walkes over to her, leaving Weasel to continue trying to pick the locks, “Pick up or drop of?, Stupid question, obviously a pick up”

Question. Is the elf girl picking a customer up? 50/50 Yes, but…

“Pick up but I also dropped off, said they would only be 10 minutes and I was to wait, they should be out soon”.

Kid continues to ask questions “They? more than one”?

“No, just the one”

“Man or a woman”?

Question. In the cabbies customer a man? 50/50. No.

“A lovely young lady, she seemed a little nervous and worried, I couldn’t say no when she asked me to wait”.

“you see her press an intercom”?

Question. Did the cabbie see her press an intercom? 50/50. No, and…

“No, she didn’t need to. She just went straight in through the main doors and I saw her go straight up the stairs”.

“This young woman, you know her name”?

Question. Can the cabbie tell Kid Sinister the womans name? Unlikely. No.

“I just had her address and even if I had her name its more than my Phd’s worth to tell you”.

Kid nods, “sure, I understand. Can you tell me what she looks like, it may be a friend of ours. Did she look like this”? Kid describes Nashu Kamshunir, a wealthy young woman who’s brother, Enli, has gone missing. Kid suspects he is dead and Enli’s best friend was Spark.

Question. Is the young woman Nashu Kamshunir? 50/50. Yes, and…

The Swedish elf sounds surprised, “that’s her for sure and to prove it she is coming out of the door now”.

Weasel stops trying to bypass the doors locks, “Nash?”

Nashu Kamshunir stops abruptly, ” Weasel, what are you doing here”?

“probably the same as you but not as effectively, you still seeking your brother? You been in Sparks pad?”.

“I found the key codes and address in my brothers things, I came hoping I may find dome clues where he is at and who’s kidnapped him”.

“Us too but we don’t have keycodes. You find anything”?

“I didn’t think you were interested anymore”

“maybe not but somethings happened that may change our minds. If you still have the funds, maybe we can help”.

Nashu walks towards the waiting cab “the offer is still there. I need to get home. Come back with me and we can talk”.

Weasel signals to Kid S “Kid, look who it is. Listen Nash, you go home, we need to get back to Foundry Bay. We’ll take the subway. There’s one on the corner here. Tomorrow I’ll get Rook to contact you and we can take it from there”.

Weasel and Kid S wave goodbye to Nashu then head back to Foundry and Shona place using the subway. Kid Sinister sits most of the journey back to Foundry in meditative thought. Weasel asks “you okay Kid”

“Sure I am. You know there is more to this than just a runaway brother. his dead friend proves it”

“I thought the same thing Kid, we’ll find out more tomorrow”.

In part 3, Shona and Rook join in the party with a meeting at Nashu Kamshunir.
