Todays character class from Lowlife 2090 RPG is the Entech, part tech genius part mad engineer.
Page 9 of the Lowlife 2090 rules book details the 15 steps to character creation.
Step 1. Roll 1 d6 for get a random race for your character. I roll a 6 so my entech is going to be an sprigan.
Step 2. Roll 1 d10 for your class. Well as I know I am creating a entech I can skip this.
Step 3. Roll attributes. One attribute must be 15 and I am rolling 4d6 and totalling the highest three for the remaining 6 attributes.
I get 13, 10, 12, 11, 14, 16
I distribute the rolls as follows (attribute modifiers in brackets).
Str: 11(0), Dex: 14(+1), Con: 13(+1), Int: 16(+2), Perc: 10(0), Will: 15(+2), Cha: 12(0)
So my Entech character, with his high intelligence and dexterity is not just clever but very quick.
Step 4. We calculate initiative (average of Dex and Int) so14+16/2 round down = 15
We also calculate Defence (11+Dex mod) = 12
Step 5. Our entech hit points are Con score + Level(1) = 14
Step 6. His Luck is 11 and his re-roll pool is 1
Step 7. Roll for contacts. Our entech starts with three contacts. I get the following (number in brackets is rating)
Machine Gestalt Fanatic. (9) Catchphrase – You out on bail?
Electronics Dealer. (13) Catchphrase – I don’t have time for this hoda.
Cyber Technician (10) Catchphrase – Watch your back batu.
Step 8. Roll for augmentations. My entech starts with three. I get the following
Cyberear(s) (Proximity Scanner).
Nano Assemblers.
Full limb cyber arm.
Step 9. Gain bonus languages. With an Int. of 16, our entech knows two additional languages. I will give him French and Russian for now.
Step 10. Choose skills. Our entech has 8 skills. He automatically gets Cybernetics and Demo plus 6 others. I choose
Athletics, Computer, Electronics, First Aid, Mechanic, Gather Info.
Step 11. Choose class abilities. My entech starts with two experimental tech devices. I choose the following for him.
Force Emitter, Sleep Spray.
Step 12. Add gear pack. As a entech he gets the following,
Heavy vest, KB Raider pistol (2 x mags shrapnel ammo), Cell ( Toshiba Vector, Sys 12), Fake ID, Ingram Pulse Taser , and ₵50.
Step 13. Add turning point, living standard and address. I get
Turning Point – Vat born. You weren’t born, you were made; grown in a vat as part of a top secret government genetics experiment
Living Standard – Low.
Address – Dockers Wedge.
Step 14. Create a background. My entech ganger is a junkyard boss.
Step 15. My brawler goes by the handle ‘Baseline’.
Finally, as an sprigan, Baseline has natural night optics (Lowlife 2090 p. 150) and may recognise and track people by scent.
And there we have out Second Lowlife 2090 character. Baseline the sprigan entech. Working as a junk yard boss in the Beacon district, he wasn’t born he was created.
