CYBERPUNK BACKPACKS
People tend to move about often and quickly on the streets of the city… carrying what few possessions they have about in backpacks. From time to time these packs are accidentally (or perhaps intentionally) left behind on subways, in pod hotel capsules, at public eating areas, etc. This 2 page product provides a dozen of such backpacks.

As a solo gamer you can never have enough random tables and Fishwife games have a catalogue full of them and, if like me, you are a cyberpunk fan then their DrivethruRPG site is a must go to with several small generic pdf files dedicated to Cyberpunk role playing games.

Two recent cyberpunk random table releases (24/5/2023) from Fishwife Games are Cyberpunk Backpacks and Cyberpunk Backpacks 2.

Both pdfs are 3 pages, a cover page and two pages containg a d12 table of abandond backpacks and their contents.
Each entry on the d12 table contains a description of a backpack and its contents. You get details of what the backpack looks like, what its made of, what condition its in and, importantly, what it contains.

Some of the backpacks just contain everyday items, which may or may not be useful to you character. Others contain really useful stuff such as contraband which can be traded on the black market. Some of the backpacks have items such as keys, notes or receipts, all of which may lead the characters off on a side adventure or could even be clues relevant to the adventure they are currently engaged in.

Cyberpunk Backpacks is Pay What You Want, the recommended price is $1.25 but if you just want to check it out first you can download it for free then pop back and pay if you find it useful.

Cyberpunk Backpacks 2 is $1.25. If you found Backpacks 1 useful then Backpacks 2 is worth picking up with it.

I grabbed them both as I certainly feel they will be valuable in my solo Lowlife 2090 games, (although I am not sure how wise it would be to open up an abandoned backpack in Mendoza city, personally, if I found one I would report it to the relevant authorities but not all of my characters are wise). Even if the idea of leaving backpacks lying around your chosen city doesn’t appeal, these tables are, in my opinion, worth it for the items described inside the backpacks alone. There are loads of super cool items which can be incorporated into your games in other ways.

So have a look at these little pdfs then the next time your character finds an abandoned backpack in the subway, roll a d12 to randomly find out what’s in it.
